For many years, this newspaper published the humorous musings of Dan Sorensen, who wrote a column called “The Deep End.” Dan’s byline was simply D.P Sorensen. His father Parry was a well-beloved instructor in the University of Utah’s Journalism and Mass Communications Department, so it was an easy track for Dan to develop a yen for writing and reporting.

Same for his brother Mike, who covered sports for the Deseret News . Dan, however, did more than news and used his incredible talent to make the seemingly unbelievable, very believable.
