Utah’s Division of Wildlife Resources has issued the biggest over-the-limit fishing fine in the state’s history. A whopping $200,000 fine was levied against fisherman Earl E. Morgantroller, an 80-year-old Sandy man who was spending a relaxed two days fishing.
The catch? Mr. Morgantroller had only one single fish in his possession. After the arrest, his wife Edna mortgaged their home to make bail. And Mr. Morgantroller, in an interview with the local news station, has vowed to fight the charges.
