Foreclosure rates on the rise in Utah and nationwide.

I apologize in advance, this isn’t great news. U.S. foreclosure filings totaled 42,430 properties this past spring, including default notices, auctions and bank repossessions, representing an 18% year-over-year increase, but an 8% decline from March 2026, according to Realtor.
com. Nationwide, one in every 3,388 housing units had a foreclosure filing. Foreclosure starts increased 12% annually, and completed foreclosures (REOs) rose 42% year-over-year. We had massive foreclosures during our country’s 2008-era recession.
