Wasatch Food Co-op Opens, bringing community-owned groceries to the Milk Block.

Last month, Wasatch Food Co-op— Salt Lake City’s only community-owned grocery store—officially opened its doors at 416 E. 900 South. Opening day featured product samples from regional vendors, free coffee, prizes, live music and free Co-op totes to the first 100 guests.
Cynthia Martinez, the co-op’s chairperson, said she was filled with gratitude for the support, dedication and belief the community shared for roughly a decade as the project came to fruition. “This milestone belongs to every member, volunteer, supporter and neighbor who helped carry this dream forward,” she said.
