Kyle Bingham’s wife noticed the change in him as soon as he returned home. A former Green Beret who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Bingham was struggling with PTSD and had traveled from his home in Syracuse to a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, to try ibogaine in his search for relief.
Bingham said his PTSD felt like a state of “traumatic psychosis.” The hypervigilance that began during wartime had remained with him after he medically retired from the military, rendering him unable to feel a sense of security.
