During a brief meeting on Tuesday, the Salt Lake City Council voted to approve its new budget, with a property tax increase. The tax hike is projected to raise an additional $13.5 million in revenue, which Council chairperson Alejandro Puy cited as necessary to keep up with rising city maintenance costs.
