All You Need Is Kill Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s 2004 novel All You Need Is Kill has already been adapted once—as the 2014 Tom Cruise vehicle Edge of Tomorrow —and it turns out that returning the source material to its original setting and language doesn’t automatically improve things.
This animated interpretation also switches things up by starting from the point of view of Rita (Ai Mikami), who finds herself caught in a time loop repeating the same day after dying during an attack by an invading alien entity.
