One of the nice things about traveling the Wasatch Front in search of dining options is that certain restaurant terminology starts taking on new meanings. Thanks to our rapidly evolving food scene, my definition of “cafe” has expanded well beyond a Euro-centric coffee shop or roadside diner.
Though it’s a concept that refines itself, one pattern that all cafes share is that they make one feel welcome, specialize in comfort food and most likely have some type of caffeinated beverage on hand.
