If you somehow slept through last month’s 4/20 celebration, you’ve been given another chance for some dank and chewy IPAs. Better to get them this week, anyway, now that the terpene craze has died down a bit. If you’re not familiar with terpenes, they’re natural aromatic compounds found in hops, responsible for the diverse fruity, floral, piney and earthy aromas and flavors in beer.

Craft brewers use them to enhance aroma, particularly in IPAs through dry hopping, or by using concentrated terpene extracts to create intense, specialized or “dank” flavor profiles.
