Gramercy Opens in the Avenues Gramercy, a new coffee and tea house, had its soft opening on Friday, Sept. 18. Located behind Satellite Salon on Second Ave., it announced its presence with a trail of marigold flowers on the sidewalk, which a number of people followed—the cafe hummed with customers even as owners Emerson Alvarez and McKenna Brown worked on the final touches to the space.
At one point, four baristas were behind the counter as people ordered off a hand-written menu (note: the customer service was exceptional).
