I was at Millcreek Gardens the other day, picking up some sandy soil for a new houseplant. It wasn’t very busy and I joked around with the cashier about how warm it was and asked if people were now coming into the store to start planting early. She said she’s getting lots of panicked calls from gardeners who are worried that spring seems to have arrived.
One said that he bought 200 daffodil bulbs from them last year, which he planted in the fall, and that they were starting to come up. He wanted to know what he could do to stop them. The simple answer is nothing.
