No one with a heart can be callous about last weekend’s tragedy at Brown University and the murderous disruption of the joyous Festival of Lights, Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Australia. Between the dead and the gruesomely injured—and the mourners left behind—hundreds of lives have been saturated with sorrow and changed forever; lives that were precious, just like every other life across the globe.
An entire world, and especially the people of Providence, RI and New South Wales are contemplating the question of what could have been done to avoid the senseless bloodshed.
